In this article we’d like to discuss air sampling of organic compounds that are found in form of dust or mist.  It is customary to classify airborne contaminants into 4 groups: gases, vapours, semi-volatiles, and non-volatile organic compounds. As it can be concluded from their name, the Non-Volatile Organic compounds have very low vapor pressure. In other words if such compound is dispersed in air, it forms dust cloud without any significant evaporation. As a rule of thumb, non-volatile compounds have boiling above 350C and saturated vapour pressure less than 0.0001Pa .
